New Sheriff Talks About His Job

Joe Stephen, the new captain at the Malibu/Lost Hills Station, hopes that during his tenure he can help foster more awareness in the community “through community meetings, block watch and more community involvement.”

Stephen, who worked for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for 25 years, described the area for which he is responsible as “relatively peaceful” and noted that a big part of his job will be dealing with issues related to traffic.
